The Ashford boat shuttles work well for weaving on table, floor, and rigid heddle looms. Made of solid silver beech hardwood with a lacquered finish. Each comes with one bobbin. Additional bobbins are sold in packs of 10. The weft yarn gets wound onto a bobbin that the shuttle then carries through the weaving shed. It is helpful to have a bobbin winder, both metal and wooden are available, however some folks make do with a hand drill and a bit of ingenuity.
